Dallas, Part 1

Hunter and I flew to Dallas yesterday to spend some time with GG (Hunter’s great-Grandma) and Auntie Karen. Hunter was a total pro on the airplane. We had checked out a book from the library about flying on an airplane so Hunter was pointing out all the stuff he recognized to me, like the ‘fasten your seatbelt’ sign. He also studied what he should do in case of emergency and got to see the cockpit after we landed.

Today, we went to the Dallas Zoo and had tons of fun. I think the theme of today was ‘let’s ride the animals’.

And of course we had a blast seeing all the animals, and getting really close to a giraffe!

After the zoo, Hunter fell asleep in the car on the ride home, clutching his new safari truck and trailer. That marks the first time I’ve ever seen him fall asleep without sucking his thumb or playing with the tags on bop.

After nap time, we swam in GG’s pool and then went out for some yummy pasta and garlic rolls.

It was a long, fun day!

Dallas

Hunter and I recently visited family in Dallas, and we had a blast! This was Hunter’s second time on a plane, and his favorite part was watching all the trucks on the tarmac after we landed.

image

Then, once we got back to GG’s house, we played with cousin Ben, including story time in GG’s chair with our blankets and cars.

image

Hunter also had story time with GG.

image

The next day we went to The Science Place at Fair Park, where Hunter got to play with bubbles, musical instruments, a sand table, a play farm, and lots more! He and Ben drove a fire truck,

image

And Hunter discovered the joy of slides and of crawling through a tunnel.

image

He enjoyed a cupcake with a truck from Auntie Karen,

image

And then picked out a dump truck at the toy store.

image

He tried to put on GG’s shoes to go outside

image

And then we went to play at the park.

image

Of course we had to play cars with Grandma T!

image

Sadly, we had to go home next. Trips to GG and Auntie Karen’s house are never long enough. But we were very excited to see Daddy again after missing him for a week!

Of course, Hunter had to show Daddy his new dump truck. (Can you tell my son likes cars/trucks?) A great trip to see family!

Soli Deo Gloria.
